K.C. McCandless, O.D.

Wellish Vision Institute is pleased to have K.C. McCandless, O.D. as one of our specialized team of physicians.

Dr. McCandless received his undergraduate degree in Zoology with a minor in Business from Brigham Young University. While attending BYU he completed a VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity) trip to Mexico where he assisted in the distribution of 15,000 pairs of eyeglasses to underprivileged people, 10,000 of which he personally collected. Dr. McCandless was awarded by the faculty and staff with the colleges “Community Outreach Award”.

At Ohio State he excelled toward his degree as a Doctor of Optometry, graduating Beta Sigma Kappa, Cum Laude, and with OSU Honors. During his schooling he worked all four years at an Optometry clinic where he participated in the treatment and prevention of ocular disease. His rotations were instrumental in his acquiring a diverse set of diagnosis and treatment skills in all areas of optometry and patient care. He has an integral role in the pre-op and post-op co-management of our refractive surgery patients.

Dr. McCandless enjoys spending his free time with his wife and his three sons. He enjoys all sports, especially basketball and racquetball and is an avid outdoorsman.
