Jesus Martinez is a doctor with many interests, including being bilingual in English and Spanish, but his true love lies within the field of Optometry. He received both his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from the University of California-Irvine before moving to Chicago to complete an advanced degree at Illinois College for Optometry Technology where he obtained his Doctorate! Following this successful educational journey, Jesus then returned home to Southern California – this time heading straight into Texas where he completed his fellowship in Cornea and Contact Lenses at the Texas Eye Research & Technology Center.
Dr. Martinez has been recognized for his work in optometry by being both a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and Scleral Lens Society, as well as an active member of several other organizations including the National Keratoconus Foundation, Nevada Ophthalmic Association, where he serves on their executive board, to name just a few examples! Dr. Martinez was the recipient of the Bert C. and Lydia M. Corwin Contact Lens Residency Award and is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honors Society. He also has authored publications in optometric journals and has been an editor for a clinical optometric textbook.
In his spare time, Jesus enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with his dog Yoshi. He considers himself a foodie and can be seen exploring restaurants all over the Las Vegas Valley.
