William May, MD

Dr. May attended the University of California at San Diego where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1978. He then went to the University of California at Davis School of Medicine where he graduated as the Morton Levitt Research Scholar in 1984. He did his internship and residency in Ophthalmology at the Los Angeles County- University of Southern California Medical Center finishing in 1988. He stayed in private practice in Southern California until 2012 when he began working for Johns Hopkins in Saudia Arabia as the Chief of Cornea and refractive surgery at Saudia Arabia’s The King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital.

In 2015 Dr. May returned to the US where he worked at the Johns Hopkins Hospital for 3 years. In addition to his expertise in cataract, cornea and refractive surgery Dr. May has developed extensive skill in caring for Dry Eye Disease. He is currently studying, performing and lecturing on a new treatment for dry eye that has implications for both cataract and LASIK surgery. Dr. May is a national and international lecturer in Ophthalmology. He speaks around the world in English, Spanish and Portuguese. He is a clinical professor of ophthalmology at U.S.C.
