Dr. Saboori graduated summa cum laude from Louisiana State University with honors distinction majoring in biology with a minor in business administration. There he was honored as a Howard Hughes Research Scholar. He obtained his MD from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the prestigious Kresge Eye Institute, where he served as the chief resident and received the Allen Award for the best glaucoma research two years in a row. After residency, Dr. Saboori completed a fellowship in glaucoma and anterior segment at Case Western Reserve University under the mentorship of the world-renowned glaucoma specialist Dr. Douglas Rhee. In addition to learning about the most cutting-edge FDA approved surgical treatments of glaucoma, he gained experience with surgical implants that are currently investigational and he will remain at the forefront of technology by continuing to participate in clinical trials. Dr. Saboori has published papers in peer-reviewed journals and has presented his research at more than a dozen local and national conferences.

Dr. Saboori specializes in medical and surgical treatments of glaucoma and cataracts, including both traditional and newer microinvasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS). He is a strong believer that the treatment of glaucoma is as much about preserving vision as it is helping his patients maintain their quality of life. He seeks to keep his patients informed and tailor their care to each individual’s needs.

Thanks to his well-rounded training in comprehensive ophthalmology, Dr. Saboori also provides quality care to patients with a variety of other ocular conditions, including those due to diabetes, macular degeneration, optic nerve and/or visual field disorders, and inflammatory conditions of the eye, including dry eye.

Dr. Saboori is originally from Louisiana; he has lived in various parts of the country including California, Tennessee, and Michigan. He is fluent in Farsi and plans on improving his Spanish. Lastly, Dr. Saboori enjoys traveling the world, hiking, skiing, tennis, soccer, and basically anything that involves the outdoors on a nice sunny day!
