During ICL a special contact lens is implanted by Dr. Wellish inside the eye and works with the eye’s natural lens to provide excellent quality of vision for a wide range of correction. This is typically a good option for patients who are not candidates for LASIK or PRK, and if your prescription changes slightly over time it in interchangeable to be replaced.
ICL typically tastes around the same amount of time as LASIK and you can be in and out in 30 minutes or less. Dr. Wellish then creates tiny micro incisions near the cornea to allow positioning of the lens between the iris and natural lens. Then, he will carefully implants the lens through these micro-incisions, and the implant will unfold on its own if placed correctly. Patients are given eye drops to use at home for post-operative care once surgery is complete. With ICL, patients can typically already see more clearly after 24 hours post surgery,
